Biography:

Molly used her ARC dissertation fellowship to facilitate designing the research plan for her fieldwork in Burkina Faso. With the support of the ARC, she attended the African Studies Association conference in San Diego, where she received the African Studies Association—Royal Air Maroc travel grant for travel to Africa. She also received an RGSO dissertation support award from the College of Liberal Arts, the Graduate School International Research Award, an ARC Research Grant, an award from the Dickerson Endowment and a travel grant from the African Studies Program to fund three months of dissertation research in Burkina Faso this semester. This spring, Molly presented two chapters of her dissertation at the Annual Meeting of the Southern Political Science Association and at the Midwestern Political Science Association’s Annual Meeting. Her coauthored article entitled “Partisan Portfolio Allocation in African Democracies” is currently under review. Molly was also selected as a recipient of the 2016 National Security Education Program’s David L. Boren Fellowship, which will fund her research in Senegal for the 2016-2017 academic year.  Molly has accepted the position of  Assistant Professor in the Department of International Affairs at the University of Georgia, starting fall 2018.
