Luvell Anderson is the first Alain Locke Postdoctoral Fellow in the Philosophy Department at Pennsylvania State University.  He received his BA in philosophy from University of Missouri at St. Louis and has recently completed his PhD in philosophy at Rutgers University.  He specializes in philosophy of language and critical philosophy of race and has published articles on racial slurs.  Luvell is currently working on a co-edited volume on the Philosophy of Race.  He is also working with the Implicit Bias and Philosophy International Research Project, developing research that looks at the propriety of reappropriating racial humor and racist slurs to combat implicit bias.  Dr. Anderson is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Memphis.
